Hi (again)! I’m Tia. 

When I was 7 years old, I played Fern in Charlotte's Web at my local community theater. Given it was Asheville, North Carolina, it felt like my big break. I (perhaps unfortunately) was the kid who knew not only mine, but everyone's lines and was not afraid to let them know it. Baby Tia was convinced that being the lead also meant being the director but trust me, I’ve been reformed since then. One thing we still do have common is the same drive, commitment, and passion. 

Since then I’ve been making little Tia’s dreams come true. I am an actor based in New York City and have studied at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts training at the Experimental Theater Wing and Atlantic Acting School. Being able to hone my skills here has been an invaluable experience and has only empowered me to continue chasing the high I first felt at Asheville Community Theater.

Women who are natural leaders are often only seen as their ‘tough’ exterior. My truth is – I am a leader. I am relentless. I am decisive. I am also family-oriented, heart-led, and deeply sensitive. Think Olivia Pope if she cried at puppy adoption videos. Everything I do is in an effort to show little black girls we are more than the world says we are, and we can occupy as much space as we want to.  

When I’m not working you can find me knitting, singing (mostly in the shower) or at home binging Industry on HBO.
